Oh, okay. I really cannot actually name any particular CDs, but rather artists because I am one of those people who are truly affected by voice and the music itself rather than the lyrics. In no particular order: Linda Ronstadt. I just adore her incredible voice range (but not all her songs). There are very few singers who can sing in that range with such brilliance. Cat Stevens. Teaser and the Firecat & Tea for the Tillerman. I just love his simplicity - and wish to hell he was still singing!! I'd play these when I was feeling rather melancholy. INXS. I just adore Michael Hutchence's voice. His voice is just so sexy. Queen. I have a DVD of this incredible band at the Hollywood Bowl, and watch it all the time. Freddie Mercury has the most incredible, faultlessly-in-tune live voice that I have ever ever heard in my whole life. Number 5 - I'm leaving this open. Still thinking about it.... My next pick is Mary Sunshine

Okay I will add Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes to that list to become the 5th CD.
Yeah I know some of these aren't the best choices but I'm not a fan of too much of the "new music" and prefer the older stuff.

What do you class as 'new music' Zeds? Okay perhaps I was generalising a bit. I must admit I don't listen to music much these days. It was a bit of an expected thing when I was growing up and I was expected to learn an instrument and be interested in music, so I kinda felt it was a bit forced onto me. Don't get me wrong I love music. I find myself humming things all day, but I'm just not obsessed with it. Put it this way....I'd rather read a book than listen to music. But I really hate the mainstream stuff out these days.

What was the last book you read? Out of interest?

What was the last book you read? Out of interest? The last book? I guess you're asking about fiction? Well I can't remember the last fiction book I read. I tend to read non-fiction. I am a tad obssessed with my own interest.... so I research and read information about it all the time. I must admit I have several on the go all the time. Probably about 10 books all going at one time. I do understand I should have more "balance" however.....

I didn't mean for this to be a confessional, just wanted to know what book it was?

I don't often buy CDs and when I do it's commercial, compilation, 'Greatest Hits' all the way. I resent hearing an album which has only three songs I recognise.
Naturally I'd take 'French Kiss' because it reminds me of my trip to San Francisco and my far more musically aware friend. We had it playing in the car when we headed off to see the redwoods (magnificent trees) and then watched the movie later on eating blueberry and apple pies.
'Swingers and Crooners' was inspired by the above. It's very mellow and can take a thrashing. All my choices have to be able to be played over and over, as I pretty much have a desert island collection in real life.
Slim Dusty 'Looking Forward Looking Back'. It was a gift and not to my taste but then I discovered it was. Very Australian.
Billy Ocean, (Greatest Hits of course). For my eighties fix.
I would have to have a complete Christmas carols/songs collection. Little Drummer Boy, White Christmas, Snoopy's Christmas, by the original artists please. I'd want to get all sentimental and a little morose as I was rotting away by myself on this island.
Babooshka, I choose you.

Thanks Mary, I'll now have Carribean Queen as your theme tune.
Caribbean queen Now we're sharing the same dream And our hearts they beat as one No more love on the run
and as for Babooshka's choice, I feel another wait coming on.

It's head and neck reminds me of something. I can't think what, though.
