If Marcia is going to be the "nice judge" persona, the least she could do is work for her money and tell the contestants what it is they are doing well, not just say vague platitudes and be disingenuous.

I agree! A lot of the time she just sticks with "Well done" or "You Go Girlfriend/Boyfriend"...you'd think she'd come up with something else.

ABSOLUTELY! You could sooo tell the Marcia was happy that Chanel left last night and that she has never liked her sassy who gives a shit attitude to the whole competition. Chanel was never going to be IDOL material and Marcia couldn't deal with that.....major loss to this dull season.....

No one's going to remember Chanel come Sunday's performance and with four more weeks to go and all the hype and attention focused on the last finalists, people are going to forget that Marcia dared to stick her neck out and stick up for the integrity of the competition at the risk of appearing like a bitchy old prune jealous of another's youth. One day, people will recognize Marcia's martrydom and reputational sacrifices for music. ;D

I'm a regular poster here, but not going to use my usual name for this post, for various reasons.
I know several people intimately involved with the show, and I am reliably informed that Marcia requires a lackey to check her nose for traces of coke before she goes on air - after each and every break.
I think this explains alot about her aggressive style, particularly how she just cannot bear to sit still and silent while the other judges are having their say. Note how she became almost hysterical when Dicko called her out over her saying he didn't have the right to comment as he'd never been an artist himself - humility in the face of being challenged is not the coke-head's strong suit.
I feel also this goes some way to explaining her dislike of Chanel - the coke-induced arrogance means Marcia cannot bear anyone to shine brighter than her in her little orbit, as Chanel so clearly did over Marcia without any effort whatsoever, and her responses to her performances was typically nasty and often non-sensical.
Flame me now if you like - the interpretations are mine, but the information is 100% accurate.

hmmm interesting post about Marcia being a "coke-head". I am no fan of hers but find it very hard to believe. Just where do these comments come from?

Interesting post but I'm suspicious about how true it is.

How people would manipulate language to otherwise achieve a credibility that their allegations would otherwise not have.
Nice try mate. Now why don't you run along to the national newspapers with that story and earn some quid instead of breaking the sensational news in an unofficial forum?

Chanel will be around for a long time to come, regardless of what happens with the rest of Idol.

Now that Dicko is leaving, it's time for a complete change of judges. I liked Marcia last year, but feel embarassed for her this year. Everyone time it's her turn to speak you know she's going to choose one of her stock answers which mean nothing. I only wish I was as spiritually evolved as you Marcia! How about Renee Geyer - great voice, I'm sure she'd love her career resurrected and I'm sure she'd have something more interesting to say Any other ideas for the singer, producer, manager. How about Iva Davies as producer? Great Southern Land was one of the best songs written about Australia I'd love to hear other peoples ideas on who could be our next idol judges
