Marcia's fence-sitting and her attitude towards Chanel has really hurt her credibility as a judge this year.

hmm it's funny isn't it? Marcia absolutely loves to be seen as the "nice judge". Yet all of us, no matter who we are have a nasty side. I strongly believe a hint of that nasty side comes out when Marcia comments on Chanel's performances. Yes they may be subtle comments but that nastiness is there all right. It just seems so strange that Marcia says the downright nicest things about every other contestant, including Marty whose had how many bad performances lately? (No offense to Marty of course) Yet when it comes to Chanel, the nicest thing she's ever said is "You're quirky'. What is up with that? Chanel must be the only girl that Marcia hasn't said "YOU GO GIRLFRIEND to. I think whether they'd like to admit it or not, favouritism has always been evident on Idol with all of the judges, and that is what I'm really disappointed in.

Yeah! What's with her? Chanel is the only unique talent. That's not to say the others can't sing - cos they're great mostly. But Chanel is different. But its not just Marcia is it. The whole school of sharks are biting. Its so wierd to watch. Why? ?

The comment about the whole school of sharks biting is completely true. I mean why is there all this debate on Chanel. To me she's a beautiful girl with an angelic voice and a unique personality. She has a different perspective on life and that leaves people questioning how genuine she is. Why is that? I mean I guess it's hard for certain people to accept these unique perspectives but that's just what I don't understand. She lives a little differently and thats what makes her so interesting to watch. Chanel is just a lovely girl who really doesn't deserve to get a bad wrap. As for the whole Marcia thing, it seems like everyone notices it. I agree with the above comment on favouritism which I think is particuarly evident with Marcia and Mark Holden who really I don't believe should even be judging the competition. I say leave it all up to Dicko!

Just adding my two cents. Never been to this forum till tonight but Marcias attitude to Chanel made me compelled to see what others were saying.
That was some impressively mean spirited, passive-aggressive bullcrap she hissed at Chanel tonight. Really out of this world nastiness. Far worse than anything I've seen from Dicko or Mark who are usually at least constructive with their jibes. Is anything going on backstage to cause this... or does Marcia just resent the girl?
I've seen it a million times amongst performers, man. People who wanna style themselves as earth mommas, everything's a touchy feely love fest... but heaven help you if you don't conform to their expectations.
Thoughts?...

I am a HUGE kd lang fan and Constant Craving happens to be one of my favourite songs of all time. Chanel did a fabulous job of interpreting the song and making it her own. There is no one on this planet who could perform it exactly as kd does, and Chanel did the right thing by not trying to. Her version brought tears to my eyes, she was completing mesmerising and back to her 'old self'. And for the record, I'm a girl, so Marcia's 'thing' about Chanel sucking in the boys doesn't wash here!
In my opinion, Marcia was incredibly bitchy and should apologise to Chanel publicly. I mean, "you gave the boys exactly what they want... well done??!!" Could she be any more condescending?!
She really doesn't like Chanel and it's painfully bloody obvious, especially tonight. Grow up, Marcia! I'd like to see you being the impartial judge you're meant to be for the sake of all the contestants!

Marcia has been out of line this season, and not just with Chanel, although tonight (constant craving) was a pretty good example. Has anyone else noticed that she is always trying to have the last say, to have her voice heard the most and the loudest. As some constructive criticism to her (which she barely ever gives, only ever says if she likes it or not), she needs to let Dicko and Mark say what they think without overriding them. Its an equal panel, the all should get equal views. And as for Chanel, Marcia needs to lay of her and lay off Dicko. He's given her CONSTRUCTIVE criticism in the past, at least he's fair. Marcia, shut up next week and get the bitter taste out of our mouths when we watch you each week.

I so agree with Chicago - Marcia is starting and prolonging the arguments and has nothing constructive to say. She butts in before Dicko or Mark have finished what they are saying. Tonight she showed her obvious bias against an Idol.

Yeah, the usual is she'll butt in and defend the contestant against Mark and Dicko..but with Chanel, she butts in and puts down Chanel whenever Mark and Dicko compliment her.

Having had 20 years expwerience in the industry myself, I feel vindicated with my thoughts on varying performances every time Dicko and Mark make their comments. Although sometimes harsh for the competitors to hear, they concur almost verbatim with my own decisions on this or that performance. I can't believe I am actually making my thoughts public here but when I heard Marcia's comments about Hanel performance on the night of Sunday the 3rd of October, I felt compelled to voice my opinion. The kd lang number Chanel delivered was exquisite. I couldn't believe my ears when Marcia's obvious acerbic tounge started wagging. Yes, Marcia, I agree, Chanel has not delivered the best performances over the past couple of weeks and, like many others I assume, this has been diappointing. She has obvious talents in so many areas and perhaps it is this forum that is not suitable, not her performances. From the start, there was always something utterly disarming and charming about Chanel and, no, I am not under "her spell". Marcia, your comments to other performers, whom Dicko and Mark actually are incredibly accurate with comments such as "You're just being lazy" or whatever......and all you can do is say " well you go girlfriend" and "that was a fine performance" etc etc at times are such a crock. I don't believe you are doing these performers ANY service or favours what so ever. Why you would then choose to be so .......nasty.....bitchy.....call it what you will to Chanel on Sunday night, after one of her best performances to date, is beyond me. So whoever posted the "does anyone else get the feeling Marcia doesn't like Chanel" email - Oh, yes, I get that feeling too. I am not voting in this competition.
Mark and Dicko - top marks for your comments. They are not only accurate they are also invaluable to the performers if they can get over their egos to listen -(falsely fed by the said Miss Marcia) - well done.
Marcia get off the fence and start to offer these kids some constructive criticism - you aren't doing them any favours at all. I believe that at the first stages of the competition, you tempered some of the guys more cutting comments and well done you but, now, you wasting valuable opportunities to point the copetitors in the right direction.
