I realise this is a music section, but with a lack of movie section I shall start this thread. So DVDs I bought today The Graduate Fiddler on the Roof both were pathetically cheap

Scrubs is one of my fave shows (Family Guy and House being the others!)
Anyway I bought Scrubs Season 1 about 3 weeks ago and watched all 24 eps in like 4 days! Lol! I got them at JB Hifi for $29 each. Pretty cheap!

I have to get series 1. I hired series 2 accidentally and liked what was recommended to me.

I love anything Bronte or Austen and I've been collecting the 'set'. So far I have 'Emma', 'Persuasion' (my favourite), 'Mansfield Park' and 'Jane Eyre'. I've ordered 'Wuthering Heights' on the internet but it hasn't arrived yet.
I did buy one of Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVDs. I was meaning to try it out today but I cleaned all the carpets and rugs with one of those carpet cleaners you hire from the supermarket today and I'm very tired. I might give it a go tomorrow.
But then again I might have to clean the windows instead. I hired my daughter to clean them today, which she did. I didn't think it possible but she's actually made them worse.

I like using those things, on my one and only carpet. Good exercise and also very satisfying to see that black water turn clear. I must do that over Christmas. My washing machine just broke. Much annoyance.
Anyhow.
A Clockwork Orange was my last purchase.
I sat down to watch it and then was reminded of this post a while back. I've seen this before but t'was ages ago. It's a very clever piece.

It made me giggle again - the power of this board!!!!

Having the washing machine break down is extremely frustrating. And all the while, the laundry pile keeps on growing and growing and growing...
I've just added 'Sense and Sensibility' to my collection. What's missing now is 'Pride and Prejudice' but I'm not sure that I want the BBC mini series version of it. I perfer DVD's to be movie sized. I'm going to wait for the latest version (with Keira Knightly) to come out on DVD. Not as good as the other, but still good.
It's different buying DVD's in that you want to choose movies you like to watch over and over, and that's not necessarily the movies you thought were the best. Some movies are 'once-onlys' because the subject matter was either grim or disturbing, or in the case of thrillers, something of a moot point if you already know the ending.

Yes I agree. Classic movies are really those that are timeless and you wish to own, as opposed to those one offs you mention.
I saw three today I wished to buy but didn't, but I shall own them eventually. I have rather bought a lot of DVDs this year.

None. But that was a given.... I only owned two DVDs at the beginning of the year, I dread to think how many I have now. This is due to me investing all my time into children and never buying things for myself. CDs and DVDs have become my major purchases. This place is expensive.

We have a few music DVDs - Queen (fantastic live concert - Hollywood Bowls), Coldplay, Pet Sounds (also fantastic), Ben Harper and Ben Folds, but no movies.
I play the Queen one and Pet Sounds over and over again when we're at the beach house.
