I bought David Bowie's Aladdin Sane and Blondie's Parallel Lines for $10 each this week. And yesterday I got Jethro Tull's Aqualung for $15.
I think, were you to take Hunky Dory's A-Side and Aladdin Sane's B-Side and stick them together, you'd have created my favourite album ever. As is, they're both just extremely good.

The last CD I bought was actually the soundtrack from The Rocky Horror Picture Show LOL! Blame the RHPS saturation that was on Foxtel a couple of weeks ago I was at my b/f's house and he has Foxtel Digital, so we had 2 channels of it Soooooo I had to buy the soundtrack after that, heh! But other CDs I've bought recently are: Supergrass is 10 - Best of '94 - '04 Blur - Best Of

I prefer Thick as A Brick. As for Bowie, Hunky Dory is by far my favourite of the two.

I don't know which I prefer. They were both extremely interesting to me when I first heard them, as I was relatively used to Bowie for either his pop hits (meaning I knew Changes and Life On Mars?, along with The Jean Genie) or Ziggy Stardust, so they were both completely unexpected for me because of the fact he released three albums in a row so entirely different. While I see Ziggy Stardust as a great album, it's also what I expected it to be. If I were to base my selection on what most surprised me upon hearing it, I'd say Aladdin Sane would win. For best, musically, I don't know.

I admit to loving "Time" when I was young as I could say 'wanker', same as Pink Floyd's Money I could say 'bullshit' when singing along. My brother, being 4 years older, had great music taste and I was very young when I was exposed to Bowie & Floyd. I now have appreciation for their music, not just because of the swear words I didn't like Bowie with Lulu on Man Who Sold the World. She annoys me as it seems affected. Though I do like the song.

I think Time is one of the best songs of his career. I can't choose between it and Quicksand, really, so for one to end my perfect A-side and one to begin my perfect B-side is quite good.

I think Time is one of the best songs of his career. Agreed. Not a fan of his later stuff though. From the day he did Fashion, he lost me. Though I still find him an interesting person. His older albums are right up there for me and I will always carry a torch for him for that.

I really enjoy most of his stuff up to the late 70s, and can tolerate everything up to about the mid-80s (with Blue Jean probably being about the last song I can stand, not counting the Labirynth Soundtrack, obviously).
