Actually when I listened to it the cast dropped out right before the rap, never to return.
But there's a Sister Act 2 reference and anything that references SA2 must be worth it.

It is honestly one of Nesh's - Carnie. Mr and Mrs Ganesha have two chihuahuas, Carnie, who is short haired (obviously) and Pippin who is a long haired tricolour (I think). A picture of Pippin is going to be my next avatar.

Well, musical preferences aside, anyone with a cute little dog like that must have some taste after all That little face is adorable.

They are my joys. I love those little girls more than even music.

I've been catching up on the podcasts. I liked your comments on Bobby in the 3/10 episode. He is an exciting re-interpreter and he's provoking discussion about his interpretation rather than his song choice. I hope that the publicity surrounding him might lead people to check out other singer/songwriters in our clubs and pubs.

Thats exactly right. If i were to ever go see a covers band or singer they would want to be doing something damn special with the songs, like Mark Kozelak did with ACDC and Bright Eyes for example.
I think what he does is give you an idea of what his original music would sound like. And i guess my question would be who of the remaining contestants can you say that about other than maybe Lisa. People can argue all they want about the others but in the end it comes down to original material once they leave.

I cant believe you havent listened to it. Its our finest moment! Actually the backing music was from another song of mine which never worked out. It started off about a guy who kills himself but then the arrangement just got too boppy, so at least it came in handy!

Lisa's will be a joke, even you have to admit that. She's boring. I think back to Guy and Shannon again. Why is Guy struggling and Shannon is not? How come Shannon grew as an artist and his original work pleased a greater audience, when Guy's disappoints? Why did the 'experts' who predicted the opposite get it so wrong?

I think what he does is give you an idea of what his original music would sound like. Bazza has put up a link to Bobby's myspace site and that has a few of Bobby's original songs on it. I like the style - guitar-based/folky/ "alternative" - whatever that may mean. I like how the arrangements suit the mood of the lyrics and how he uses his voice. My only quibble is that one track is heavily derivative of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here and I don't know if Bobby realises that, or whether he's acknowledged it? It's still very good and evocative.

We all heard Lisa's two original songs and they were very strong for her age, also very marketable.
Guy has indeed been a big disappointment while Shannon has been clever in picking songs that will be used in advertising, although for songs like Lift remember he actually gets nothing as he didnt write it. Pleasing a greater audience is actually not as big a deal for many artist as you would imagine Mary, some are just happy if they are comfortable and can keep making albums so lets keep that in mind. However in your example Guy is also trying for hits and is never going to be as successful as Noll. I expected him to forget pleasing the masses and make music like Stevie Wonder used to. Oh well it was but a dream, a silly one i think.

I believe that's true that some artists are content to just make a living from their music as long as it's the type of music they want to make. Casey's has said that's what she wants. I think Bobby would fit into that category too and that's why I think he'd be better off not winning. Success can be measured in a number of ways.
I believe that Guy is making (or made) a cd featuring Christian music for the US market. I've heard there's a huge market over there for that type of music. Maybe he'll be more successfull overseas than in Australia if it takes off.

Aside from the commercial aspect of it, considering his faith, perhaps this is the niche that he might find most fulfilling.

Funny thing Mario (Idolonline) said he would be a sensation in America singing Gospel years ago.
