Name: Marty Worrall Age: 26 Hometown: Kerang, VIC Star sign: Aquarius Occupation: Singer First audition song: I Believe in a Thing Called Love Listening To: Radiohead, "The Bends" Favourite Music: Rock Musical Idol: Steven Tyler Describe how you are feeling now after finding out you have made it through to the final 12.I’m still a little stunned; it’s just been really overwhelming. It’s bittersweet as well. I’m just not a fan of the stools, “the stool gang.” It’s really rough having to sit there. What has been the reaction of your family/friends?They are absolutely over the moon. What has been the most difficult part of the competition so far?For me, I’d say last night. Sitting on the stool next to Ngaiire, there was not a good outcome either way. What has been the most enjoyable aspect of the competition so far?I think the actual singing with the band, the vocal workshops, and also hanging out with the other contestants is really fun. How are you adjusting to your newfound celebrity? It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I wouldn’t say we’re celebrities yet. We’re D-grade at the moment! If all goes well we’ll hit B-grade, which is cool. I do get recognised a little if I take my hat off. Do you have a strategy/approach for the finals series?Doing my thing has served me well so far; so I think it would be folly for me to second guess anything at this stage. What have you learnt in this competition so far?I have learnt I need to make sure my goatee is nice and straight before I go on stage and sing! First CD you ever bought?Guns ‘n’ Roses – Use Your Illusion 1. What motto do you live by?Nothing ventured, nothing gained. What is your favourite song to sing? The New Radicals, “You Get What You Give” Why do you want to be Australian Idol?Who doesn’t want to be a rockstar? Tell us something about yourself that no one else knows.Okay, just between you and me…though, actually, I don’t know you that well. Maybe later! Who was your favourite Idol from last year?Stu Campbell - that guy is a great entertainer. au.australianidol.yahoo.com/contestants/marty_worrall/

Hi Marty,
Well I have to say, that out of every contestant and finalist in this competition, no voice has touched me as much as yours. It's rare that one can transcend the physical plane with music and voice, but when it does happen it is sublime and a magical experience.
You have that quality - making me feel emotion and a certain type of rapture through your voice. In the last few finals, I have not felt this, as I did in the beginning. Get back in touch with your inner core, rediscover your passion and release your voice from the depths of your soul. For it is truly a healing force and one that should not be feared.
I can hear in you that essence that seperates you from other singers. You have the strength and courage to embrace your gift. Free your chest from its doubts and worries - let your energy flow freely and most of all, enjoy and feel the love in what you do.

Marty, Marty, Marty,
Boy am I so glad you are still in this competition. You have a depth that is just so intriguing. I am always hanging out to see how you will go. I think you are just wonderful.
It doesn't bother me that you have no hair, I think it's pretty sexy. And you have enough hair on your chest to make up for it not being on your head.
Somewhere Only We Know was such a great song for you, as was Drops of Jupiter. They really stuck in my head after you sang them, and before that I wasn't a big fan on D.O.J. and I had never even heard S.O.W.N. I even downloaded it (your version and Keane's version - yours is better, hehe)
Looking forward to your Mr. Mister song my chrome dome darling! Mwah mwah mwah, stay true to yourself.
