I don't know about anyone else but it appears Mark Holden has a monologue of comments for every other finalist but Courtney. His 80's show comments amounted to nothing more than another let down for Courtney. I am left feeling "what does Courtney have to do to please him", I thought his performance was great and he has an amazing voice. Some of the other idol contestants didn't ( in my opinion)perform as well but managed to receive at least some praise and encouragment from Mark Holden. Come fellow viewers let's call for fair and reasonable judging, like we are being called for fair and reasonable voting.

Did anyone happen to catch the hour tribute to Courtney last week on Channel 10? It was disguised under the name of “INSIDE IDOL”. Appalling! I think Courtney has been cut enough slack. If chunky butt wants my vote he will have to do something inventive like interpret the song rather than pretend he’s in some karaoke bar.

Courtney is a great performer. Not sure though that Mark has anything against him.....Maybe it's just me but I haven't really noticed anything. However I didn't like the week that he said Courts was 'ordinary, ordinary etc.' I think Mark's got more of a thing against Hayley, it's just so blatantly obvious and I really think he needs to get over it!

I don't have anything personally against courtney, I actually, thought he was great at the beginning, but now I think it has all gone to his head a bit.
If you are reading this courtney, I am not trying to be nasty. I just think that you need to take critisism a bit better, cause for the first few weeks you got great reviews after each of your performances while others got bagged and you were happy. Other soon as you were criticized you roll your eyes and act annoyed even sometimes angry at them and to me that seems a little bit arrogant.
A lot of people I speak to think the same.

[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] I am a musician, and you are a musician, and i respect that alot. From when you auditioned I noticed it, and it is what I like most about you. You have never ever sang out of tune (which scores a ten/ten for my perfect pitch) and I seriously hope you win so we can all hear some of your compositions. You're voice is unique, like the classics...barnsey, ray charles, a memorable and notable voice that is a pleasure to listen to. I have voted for you every week and will continue to do so. And if you don't make idol, I hope you won't be discouraged but pursue your music career...for all us folks who appreciate a real musician being in the charts for a change. Keep up the good work and keep smiling, Sarah

What an amazing talent Courtney has. Australia and Mark holden get you heads out of your ar...... and see what an incredible voice the man has before we lose him. I would love to hear him sing sex bomb and really give it to them. As a recovering anorexic it is nice to see big people having a go and showing the young that you dont have to be skinny to be great and to be accepted by society. GO COURTNEY YOU ROCK

I would love to hear him sing sex bomb and really give it to them. Although I have tired a little of Courtney's voice, I reckon you are SPOT ON with that song choice. I hope he took on board what Mark and Dicko said on Monday night and shows them what he is really capable of once and for all. As a recovering anorexic it is nice to see big people having a go and showing the young that you dont have to be skinny to be great and to be accepted by society. How brave of you to share that with us. That's a really great point Why don't you consider joining this board as a member?

My first impression of Courtney was that he was such a level headed fella, and as the weeks went on, when he got harsh comments from the judges, he looked like he was being sore about it.
Last weekend was just bloody arrogant, and I was seriously ticked off. Holden is a judge after all, and while he talks a lot of nonsense alot of the time, he said exactly what I thought during the performance. That Courtney was very weak with his falsetto.
To say that he'd ignore Mark's comments was just rude and in fact very detestable. I'm glad the voters agreed, because you can't condone that kind of attitude.
Incidentally R&B/Soul is my favourite genre of music, but the show was a huge disappointment in my view. But ironically, the public got the results spot on, in my view.
Chanel was absolutely horrible, and deserved to go. Hayley should probably have been the second last, but after his outrageous show of conceit, I thought it was great that Courtney was made to sweat it out. I hope it was a big kick up the bum for him, because out of the final 4, i hope he wins it.
But that attitude has got to change...because the only time Holden was constructive with his criticism of Courts, he diss ed him.

You're voice is unique, like the classics...barnsey, ray charles First off, Barnsey is not in the same class as Ray Charles, let alone is he a classic. Unless Bruce Springsteen rip-offs are considered classics. Secondly: Oh, rubbish. Hayley's performance was okay, but was fairly lifeless. Anthony's performance was the most formulaic performance I've heard since the last time I heard him. And Courtney's performance was completely out of key (and I really like Courtney). Terrible. Based on their performances, these three deserved to go before Chanel who actually, you know, entertained (though I realise the idea of a good concert act is not really a care to the music industry these days).

And Courtney's performance was completely out of key (and I really like Courtney). I'm glad someone agrees that Courtney was out of tune - the verses were good but the falsetto was just all wrong. I still really like Courtney's earlier performances though and I think he knows how to work the stage and the audience really well - just that he hasn't been consistent and his attitude is a bit disappointing. If he can lift his game he doesn't deserve to go before Anthony or Hayley.

i think that courtney wasn't his best the other night. I'm not his biggest fan, but i do think that he can do well, i don't know if he is and idol material, or what the public will support long term, but he has a lot of talent. He was out of tune for majority of the song, it was actually one of his worst performances. Mark is harsh and hard with all of them not just courtney. Mark is especially hard on haley and anthony, as well as dick. I'm not sure what he wants out of those two. I think that mark was spot on about courtney that night. i wasn't too happy with his comments towards haley and anthony.

Emphasis added There's something about Hayley's rather stage-managed performances that doesn't sit as well with me as Anthony's 'measured' performances. I'm starting to think that it's perhaps she's a bit mechanical, her movements a little awkward - maybe she needs a little more confidence in her routine. Then and again, can confidence compensate for lifelessness?

I don't think the judges are there to give the contestants a bad time just for the fun of it. A lot of money is going to be invested into making an album for who ever wins Idol. And while all the remaining contestants have merit they are hardly polished professionals yet. Hayley looks stiff and awkward on stage, Anthony is stuck in boy band mode and Courtney shows no originality. Casey, while generally getting favourable reviews by the judges, is criticised (going by the forums) by the public for her lack of verbosity. Telling the contestants they are great when improvement is needed is not helping them. I don't think the judges deserve the flak they are getting for simply saying it as they see it. Otherwise they would not be doing their job.
