As it's happening (almost)
I'm feeling a bit jaundiced about the whole night because Casey's not performing for whatever reason. Not fair that Kate, as AI winner, doesn't perform solo either.
Anyway, here goes.
The Young Divas - another cover with nothing new to add to it. Karaoke, girls. Everything that Idol is criticised for. Ricki Lee needs liposuction on her hips. Paulini looked good. Pants suit her better than short skirts.
Anthony - what a downer of a song for the occasion. It really is a shit song. I can't imagine what kind of market he's hoping to capture with that one. It's already sliding down the singles charts after only two weeks. Getting used to the hair. Can't imagine what the hosts were thinking in his intro ' from his successful second album'. It doesn't come out until tomorrow.
Marica and her talentless daughter - more karaoke. What was Marica thinking with those pants? Hideous! Marcia has no business promoting her stuff on this show. Casey or Kate should have been in this spot. They were probably lip synching too.
Guy - he was good. Much better that his first single. Also not r&b. Perhaps he's got the hint that Aussies don't really take to homegrown r&B.
Shannon - he was OK too. He's never been to my taste, but he's good in his chosen genre.
Group song - Lisa is still flat as a tack and having more tunefull singers around her draws attention to it. Lavina stood out as a professional. Ricky was great!!! Oh Ricky, it really should be you in the final two
More to come.

Jess idol biography, Jess sings, Damien biography, Damien sings. Seen all this before. Who cares?
Group song - Ricky's the best.
Winner announced - it's Damien. Jessica doesn't look disappointed. I don't think I'd be either because the winner's song is hideous as usual.
Damien sings. Idol is over for another year.

Woohoooooooooooo
I actually dont mind the Damiens new single (hehe)......Jessicas version was a tad drab just like previous years but I honestly thought Damiens version was much better!
But Im not biased or anything! Lol. :-)
Anyhoo, Yay for Damien! I am so very happy and will definetly be supporting him throughout his career..........

Nice Congrats to Damien! I was happy with the final two so didn't really mind who won in the end. How skinny is Deni Hines looking?! And agree - what was Marcia thinking?

Thank goodness Jess didn't win. To be honest I couldn't watch the whole thing and yet I think I saw as much as what Meg reviewed, apart from the group song.
It occurred to me that I wasn't really invested in it at the end. I knew that earlier. Bobby, Lisa, and Dean drew the interest, Ricky had his fans too. Damien needed to be in the final with one of those to make it a real show.
Hard to believe that Shannon is such a natural now. At the end of his song and chat with Andrew someone hugged him. Was it Dan? I know Dan supported him on his tour.

It's a good thing that Jess didn't win. The Idol process would have chewed her up and spat her out and there's already enough Young Divas.
Damien's big enough to look after himself. I see many years of Carols By Candlelight and similar events ahead of him.

He better. As he's not a citizen he could do a runner on us. I want at least five Christmas albums out of this man. I really can visualise him in costume.

Val Doonican does Christmas albums. Wonderful irony there. But that's what I think he'll end up doing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
