To Kill A Mockingbird - 2 Disc Special Edition for $19.83 at Ezy DVD
I've just seen Disc 2 and it's a whole tribute to Gregory Peck. There is this lovely documentary that follows him through about a 12 month tour he did of the US just sitting in a theatre and reminiscing and answering questions fromt he questions and he reflects on all sorts of aspects of his life. There is also an interview with the actress who played Scout - about her memories of the film and of gregory peck. Needless to say I just loved this extras disc. this film is one of my all-time faves. I just love the relationship between Atticus and his children. GP was magnificent as Atticus. The children are portrayed very realistically and unsentimentally. The story...well, if you don't know the story read the book! which is better than the film btw

Haha.
DVDs since the last post and I'm probably going to miss out on mentioning quite a few....
The Mighty Boosh - Series 1 - bizarre humour, pop culture references, two fantastic central characters
Doctor Who - the new Who - the last DVD of the second series. I had to watch the brilliant double episode that ended this series in time for the start of Series 3 starting on Saturday!!!
Alexander Nevsky - Sergei Eisenstein -- - worth it just for the Battle on the Ice. Amazing visuals. Amazing pioneer. Wonderful pre WWII propaganda. Kickarse soundtrack by the great Prokofiev.
Miss Marple - Nemesis -- the 80s BBC version. Good adaptation of my favourite Miss Marple book

New Order - Finsbury Park June 2002 - - middle-aged rockers wearing jeans having a good time trotting out some old faves. Great seeing the old Joy Division tracks being performed. Looking forward to watching the new film about Ian Curtis called Control. 24 Hour Party People - - film about Tony Wilson and Factory records and the Madchester scene concentrating on Joy Division and Happy Mondays. Pure nostalgia trip and done in a wonderful chaotic manner. Love Steve Coogan as Tony Wilson. Shaun of the Dead - - Oh God I laughed so hard. Can't wait until Hot Fuzz comes out on DVD. Missed out on watching it at the cinema. Kids - I don't know

I saw Hot Fuzz and it was hilarious. I went with my middle son! It was great fun.
When I was in Tasmania with TQ recently, she introduced me to Spaced. Have you seen it?

More DVDs...hahahaha
The complete BBC Shakespeare Collection. Yep, the whole kit and caboodle. The BBC dramatised all of Shakespeare's plays in the late 70s and early 80s. Clive James referred to it as the Bardathon. And no, I haven't seen all of them ....yet.

Ooh yes please! I'd love to watch Spaced. Try before you buy kind of thing. I've got to stop buying DVDs. I really have spent too much money on them. What I've mentioned is just a fraction of what I've bought in the last 6 months or so.

Bah. I buy them all the time. I bought Brick today. I lucked out on all of those I wanted to buy, and had limited time, and I knew my son would like it and it was cheap. Lately Babs has had me do some Coen Brothers. Millers Crossing and Barton Fink. If you haven't seen them I can recommend them greatly. Ok so he gets the credit. He is my movie guru it has to be said. Why don't we start sharing them? Might be a cheaper option for us both

Brilliant idea!
Love the Coen brothers. Love Miller's Crossing - the young Gabriel Byrne was quite weedy wasn't he - compared to how he looks now. I just love the soundtrack. The Hudsucker Proxy, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art thou,Fargo - - all brilliant. I like their interesting camera angles and screwy way at looking at things. O Brother and Fargo are truly brilliant. I haven't seen Barton Fink
