I'm starting to warm to ol' Markie. I think it's because he's actually speaking in terms that I can understand I think after his stint in the recording studio with the contestants he's really opened up and saying what he really thinks, instead of going overboard with the touchdowns, hubba hubbas and goonie goo goos

I agree. I think since he went in the studio with them, he seems to have taken the attitude that they're actually listening to what he says as a judge.

Yeah... I'm actually agreeing with some of the things he has to say this time round, hehe...

I like Mark Holden. He's kind of the happy medium with the judges. Marcia is just too nice, and Dicko is sometimes too cruel...
I also think he's sooo damn funny and adds to the entertainment factor of the show.
"Why is my mizzle not schmizling?" "I hope to have multiple touchdowns this evening"
Plus it's obvious he's passionate about what he's doing, for example when he was crying after Casey's performance a couple of weeks ago, and the way he speaks about music so emotionally.
GO HOLDEN YOU CHAMP!

I've been agreeing with Mark's view mostly this season, the only thing I disagree on is his stance on Hayley.

hey chicagoholic, you're a mod? coolies & congrats! i love mark for the following reasons: - He talks hilarious gibberish
- He supports the Idols (even after the show is over & he's not working with them) and wants them to be the best! he's like a proud uncle or something
- His area is expertise is recording, and his comments are always geared to this area.
- He has the knack of a school teacher - be gentle in what you say but get the point across.
- He doesn't mind being the butt of jokes on the show. Marcia isn't like that at all.
I also however, disagree about Haley

he favours chanel and casey just because of previous performances. he is supposed to judge the present performance. he freely gives "touchdowns" to casey but ricki-lee deserved one for 'don't stop' and she didnt.

I was actually really surprised that Ricki Lee didn't get a touchdown for "I Have Nothing"

Yep, Mark is my fave judge this year. I also get the feeling he is very supportive to the Idols - I liked how he really got behind Joel turner as well. And he's only given two touchdowns this year - that says to me that he is saving them up for really outstanding performances.

yes I agree fyrrn. he is a great mentor and you can see he is genuine in his concern for young artists. don't really know what happened with him and hayley but he did the right thing in addressing it and getting it out of the way.

poor thing, i didnt know he had osteoperosis.
I think Mark doesn't get enough credit for what he's brought to the show. He is very light hearted, but gets tough when required.
