Good lord. Shannon, the "Typical Aussie" thing has officially gone too far.  You're kidding aren't you?? It was a CHANNEL NINE COMMERCIAL JINGLE!! Oh yeh........I get all choked up with pride when I hear the "Snappy Tom" jingle ..."The cats of Australia have made their choice, Snappy Tom, Snappy Tom....."  Reading that was one of the first times I have literally Laughed Out Loud on the internet. ;D |

Shannon is a bit of a joke really! He's got an album with a heap of originals yet out of his 3 official singles only one was original - "Drive" - and that had the deepest lyrics I've ever heard ... "I've got a car / A big black shiny car". I know he didn't write that song but still, if he's not gonna right them at least choose well written songs. So out of 4 singles (including this new crap "Come On Aussie..."), 1 is original! Wow, I am so damn glad he didn't win!

I've only heard that Come on Aussie Come On once.
Once too many. Shannon is more of an idiot than I thought if he does sing it. But a rich idiot.
It seems unfair that a real talent can write music and struggle, yet a 'potential' moron can make millions. This is what I will think of him if he does this.
I do like Shannon, and think he can do better than resorting to this. I loved his audition on Idol, the best I've ever seen him sing. Shame he's so inconsistent.

Yep - written by Bryan Adams....says it all really. You would assume that singer/songwriters keep their best stuff for themselves, so you really have to worry about a song that Bryan Adams gives to someone else.

Hey guys, take it easy! There seems to be a bit of shannon bashing here! Drive may have some of the *ahem* 'deepest lyrics ;D you've ever heard but I have not heard it myself for some time and yet the other day, driving on the freeway, windows down, sunblazing away, the song on full blast.. it was GREAT  4213.. you should lighten up! As I said even I was surprised at the choice of this song but he could release it for a good number of reasons so don't make hasty judgements! As for making millions, you are too presumptious and give him too much credit, the song has not even been released so where is he going to get the millions from  And you don't have to buy it or listen to it if you don't want to.. we all have different tastes in music! |

I think in hindsight, you, Shannon and a lot of his fans are glad too that he did not win!! He has been making all the right moves so far.. and in truth, he has chosen well written songs, songs that resonate with the public, his album is a great album..it is so listenable. .. it stayed in the charts for nearly 10 months, can't all be due to his being the idol runner up and all that idol crap. |

I want Shannon to wins Idol and many of his fans wanted him to win so badly last year that we hated you know who  Yes, Shannon's making the right moves, what's wrong with Aussie blue and farm battler image? He's selling his album very well. Look at that Guy Sebastion, do you think he can still sell as much albums as today after 10 years. Shannon will always be my Aussie Idol! |
