Do you mean the guidelines of the official forum itself? Anyway... on a slightly different track... As an Admin of a fair few boards (of different themes and sizes) I think that having some sort of "board guidelines" is important... Just to keep things under control, really... it can be so hard to keep an eye on everyone who posts... (hence why all of my boards are now "members only", meaning you have to register in order to post). According to the Proboards TOS (Terms of Service) you actually have to be over 13 to join/post at a board, of course there will be people who won't realise this or who won't abide by it, but I think that's one of the reasons why I think some rules can be quite good to have, for example no swearing or content that could be seen as offensive to people... Yeah I know, someone will say "if you don't like it then don't read it" - but think about this - what if the subject is titled in such a way that you don't know what the thread itself will contain? Then you think it's all innocent, you click the link, and it takes you to a thread filled with filthy or "offensive" pictures... Eh I dunno, I'm just rambling I guess, LOL... I suppose I just wanted to get across my thoughts on why having some rules or guidelines is good, and that it's not just the Admins trying to patronise the members or whatever... *shrug* The board.

In case you didn't read the first post properly that is the yahoo site's rules she ony posted them here guidelines. The mods here think roughly along the same lines but are not as extreme. Criticism is permitted (ie Marty should have picked a different song or your post above). Discussion of all sides of an issue is encouraged. We not here to make the idols feel good but also we don't want to slander them. It's not an adults site and some kids do read these pages so very offensive or explicit posts are deleted.
BTW it's an unofficial site because it was not set up by the Australian Idol Management but it is still one of the largest and most active idol forums. If you think it's boring you are free to start your own more interesting thread or check out the other sites.

Seven? As you said, considering content, that's not good Having a seven year old I doubt very much if they were really 7. They don't join forums, they're just learning to construct a sentence, sight read and computer time is for playing games!!!! Though some of the sentence construction and obvious reading skills are dubious on these forums sometimes LOL.

Hi Aquarius, "page not available" has nothing to do with the Mods. Sometimes when the boards are really active or the net connection is slow you will get this error message. You may find if you wait or post later it will work. If your post has been deleted by a MOD you won't get an error message - and most times they will let a member know they have deleted a post. hope you are enjoying the boards and look forward to seeing you around here more. cya xxBo
