That she will. Just like that melisimmaddict from last year, Guy Sebastion who ruined everything he touched. WHAT!!!!

Good summary, dude. One word will separate the star from the also-rans. Versatility.
The standards of the finalists this year are pretty high and uniform but so far we have not been given the opportunity to see them perform outside their preferred genres or beyond their comfort zones. The obvious stylists Hayley, Amali, Daniel are expected to struggle as the themes become more varied, so will Emelia who has the weakest voice. My prediction is that Angie and Chanel will go far in this respect, and Marty and Courtney can surprise us with their versatility too. Courtney has reasons to fear Angie, this soul mama is going from strength to strength.

I think (hope) Daniel, Angie and Casey will be there until the end! I think Anthony, Marty and Rikki-Lee could also be up there too, depending on song choice! I'm abit worried though about Rikki- Lee's song choice for this week!! (i think it will either go one way or the other for her)!
I would prob expect to see Amali,Emelia, Hayley and Dan to be the first one's to go

It's still early days so it is hard to know how they will each cope with the different genres they have to sing. Wisdom in song choice will be critical. Shannon was brilliant at choosing songs that suited him and so he did well even thought his voice was not the strongest around. He had a great voice for the songs he chose. He somehow always managed to get it right. That will be the deciding factor I think with all of them.
Angie (very versatile, sassy and comfortable with her singing, seems to just exude fun) Amali (good voice, great looks) Dan (voice is different in that it is deep and throaty, with the right songs he could do well) Chanel and Casey both have excellent voices and can pull on the emotions (big fan bases, need to watch songs to keep them popular) Anthony (great voice, funnily enough I think his pretty boy looks work against him which is strange, not sure why I think that) Marty is a real enigma (looks like a heavy rocker with shaved head, black Tshirts and barbed wire bracelet but then sings with a lovely voice, that last song was great) Rikki, Hayley, Emelia all have good voices, great looks but I need to be surprised by song choice. Daniel (great powerful voice, good control, put off by attitude and previous song choices though) Courtney (wonderful voice)
All seem to be special in their own way. Each one is an individual. Song choice will make or break them. I'm hoping to be surprised along the way.
He, he "melisimmaddict" (Had to look this one up.)
"melisma" - a group of notes sung to one syllable of text.
That makes it a pretty neat sound to me actually.
Great vocabulary Jorge but don't agree with your opinion. Lots of others thought Guy's mellismatic singing was pretty neat too. ;D

ok well alothough i havent really seen enough of them to judge them yet ill still say what i think gathered from their previous performances so far-
Ricki Lee- i cringed when this girl got through because i thought she was up herself but as the time goes on i cant help but start to like her. i dont think she will be one of the first to gohowever i dont think she will be there until the end.
Amali- i like this girl . she is very talented for her age and she presents herself well . much much better than Lauren did last year and this girl is a year younger than her!! i think amali will stay around for a while
Angie- to me angie is one of if not "the" best singer in the competition so far. her voice is excellent and so is her personality. Definately top 3 material.
Hayley- To me Hayley still needs to prove herself . im not sure whether she got through just on a lucky song choice or not.
Chanel - this girl oozes talent whether or not she blows it by going to arty and out there is still unknown.
Casey- Casey has obviously got alot of angst inside her and if she wants a chance at winning she has to quickly drop the angry grunge goth image . other than that i like her.
Emilia- i luv this girl shes a bit emotional but i just think she is so unique. i hope she goes far.
Anthony- I think anthony is sweet and in time he will definately grow.
Courtney- he will go far . he could even be a dark horse in the running to win this contest
Dan- he didnt stand out for me but he can prove himself as the weeks go by if hes not booted this week.
Daniel- his voice is very good but i think his sulky attitude will get him out early .
Marty- cheeky personality but his songs will need to vary otherwise he get boring.

"melisma" - a group of notes sung to one syllable of text. Great vocabulary Jorge but don't agree with your opinion. You didn't know what melisma meant!? Anyway, I know it's early days, impossible to tell and that I'll be way off, but I'm going out on a whim and here is my prediction, from first gone to first: Hayley - I think she's good, but ultimately forgettable. Dan - I think his voice is so average. So the pretty boy votes will go to the pretty boy with a good voice (ie. Anthony) Emelia - It will depend a lot on how far she can grow and improve. As has been noted, if we voted them off, she'd be the first gone. Marty - His thing will become bland fast. And he irks me a lot. Angie - I can't see her making too much progress. Her voice, while good, is uninteresting good. She's in the Aretha vein, but she's not Aretha, if anyone can understand what I'm saying. Ricki-Lee - So much can sway how far she goes. She could go early on or make it to the end, so I'm sticking her in the middle. Anthony - Because of a strong top six that I think he'll have the smallest popularity of. Casey - It will be the Paulini/La Toya elimination of the year too. Courtney - His popularity is huge, but I don't think it will get him all the way to the final two. Amali - I think she'll be really popular. Being from Tasmania will help her a lot, as will being so attractive, as will her personality. The thing that will let her down is that her voice isn't as good as a lot of the rest of them. Daniel - His voice is the best... Chanel - ...but she's the best all-rounder. With a lot of people I know of who hate this kind of thing, she's the saviour. And they won't let her fall short of winning.

... and Chanel will win no she won't. her performance last night of green limousine (what a boring song) was average and this year, you cannot afford to be average. besides, it has gone to her head. she would have been better suited to popstars live ("hey, we're famous even though no-one knows who the hell we are"). casey/marty (urgh)/hayley one of them will win it. and out of that three, casey is the only one i really like.
