Well... we have our result! Can't say I'm totally shocked. But well done to both finalists, they did well to get as far as they did. It was good to see some of the Final 12 as well (and by that I mean Carl, Jacob, Daniel and Ben, hehe...)

It was a bit of an anti-climax. It seems that the underdog nearly always wins AI. But Natalie is a worthy winner and Matt has a bright future. Note that Mark advised Matt to take his time like Casey and Missy. Missy?
Anyway, over at the Casey forum members have been emailing Mark Holden to use his influence to get Casey to perform on Idol. Casey is about to release an EP very soon and AI seems to have had everyone on except Casey. Not even an update. Now at this late hour they're starting to pay a little more attention to her again but no mention of her EP which they know about. In an interview, Holden said that Casey has been working on her health which is more important than recording. The fact is that Casey has been doing both. Theory is that after long neglect and with Casey now ready to release new material, they're in damage control and don't want to appear non-supportive.
I didn't watch most of the show. I only caught the end bit. I taped it. Is it worth watching?

Meh it's not really worth watching until the Idols turn up (Matt in his crazy blue velvet Austin Powers-ish suit, hahahaha! And Natalie's awful dress, guuh! It's a good thing they changed throughout the show really).
That's true about Casey actually, they never seemed to have updates on her, or have her perform on the show at any time. Maybe it was her own choice not to though *shrug*

No, it wasn't her choice. Forum members emailed Mark to have her on or at least an update on her but only after the go ahead from Casey's step-father. I think they've chosen to ignore her as a 'failure' but now that new material is being released they've had to re-evaluate. The red carpet interview with Casey was mostly Guy Leech using her as a self-promotion. No doubt Casey talked about her EP but was chopped out.
I liked Natalie's long white dress. She does have a hard figure to dress, being quite chunky (but not fat). I fast forwarded most of it. I'm glad I didn't watch the whole lot. The Divynals (sp?) weren't very good. Quite dated. I liked Natalie's version of the song better.

I really did expect Matt to win, but I think it is a good thing he didn't. Natalie deserved to win and I hope she does well, but I think Matt will do better in not being tied down and committed to the "instant" contract that Sony BMG would have given him.
He's got a long and successful career ahead of him.

Yep he certainly does.. and at least now he'll have the time to work on something really good.
Oh yeah, that one was ok - it was just that thing she wore as she and Matt first arrived and were walking up to the Opera House - I think it had a black top half and the skirt was white and strange looking - it did nothing for her figure anyway.
